Town of Evans Water Bills
ANYONE HAPPY WITH THE $103.38 OR HIGHER WATER BILL?

Issues And Questions For The Candidates
Below are issues and questions #2 for the candidates for the Town of Evans Town Board.
Water Bills
The bad news is that the minimum water bills crossed the $100 mark to $103.38. It gets worse. With the Erie County Water Authority raising rates and the Town of Evans having to pay for the newest phase of the never ending water project, water customers can expect even higher water bills in the near future.
Here are some questions you can ask the candidates when they ask you for your vote:
- Why are water bills in Elma $28.33 and $103.38 in Evans?
- Why do we have to pay for 9,000 gallons even if we use less water?
- Some communities have a 3,000 gallon minimum charge and a second charge for additional usage. Why not Evans?
- Buffalo offers a senior discount, why not Evans?
- How can we live next to Lake Erie and pay more for water than many desert communities?
The town board should be looking for ways to lower water bills and not vote for more water projects that will raise water rates.
