What Does Evans Need?
#7 → EXPAND COMMUNITY EVENTS

How Does The Town Improve Recreational Opportunities?
Item #7 is another example of how both parties talk in generalities and offer no plan of action.
Before 1985, an appointment to the Recreation Advisory Board was a big feather in your cap. The rec board ran programs and oversaw youth groups without any interference from the town board. If the 2023 candidates are serious about improving recreational opportunities in the Town of Evans, the solution is simple, stop micromanaging the rec board and give them a budget to run programs.
Waterfront Development & Tourism
Maybe Paying Engineers & Lawyers Less & Actually Do Something?
The Town of Evans suffers from the “study it to death syndrome“. Maybe it is time to spend the taxpayer’s money equipment & programs?
When was the last time a park near your home had a new piece of playground equipment installed? Lake Erie Beach Park got two new pieces since 1994! It’s time for the new town board to start doing better.
Maybe Focusing On Tourism and the Sturgeon Point Marina?
Fishing tournaments bring a ton of money into a town. If town officials spend as much time on promoting events at the marina as they do justifying closing the marina, maybe tourism in Evans would improve. Why not bring in food trucks and other vendors? Maybe a few bands? The Sturgeon Point Marina should be a town jewel and not an afterthought.
