What Does Evans Need?
#2 → Protecting Tax Dollars
Doesn’t Their Oath of Office Require The Protecting of Tax Dollars?
This is just political speak. No candidate for local office will say they will spend the taxpayer’s money foolishly. Once they take the oath of office, all bets are off!
Here is just one example. This one suggestion would save Evans taxpayers a few million dollars. The current town board thought this suggestion was ridiculous!
The first phase of the recently approved water project has an estimated $1,352,455 in engineering fees. Evans shares its assessor with another town. Why can’t Evans hire or share an engineer to work on the water project? Isn’t saving a million dollars “protecting tax dollars”?

Why should freedom of speech and freedom of the press be allowed? Why should a government which is doing what it believes to right allow itself to be criticized? It would not allow opposition by lethal weapons. Ideas are much more fatal things than guns. Why should any man be allowed to buy a printing press and disseminate pernicious opinions calculated to embarrass the government?
The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong.
Leadership is practiced not so much in words as in attitude and in actions.
