Public waterfront property is protected by local, county, state, and federal laws. U.S. law is based on British Common Law which is based on Roman Law. The Public Trust Doctrine is 2,000+ years old. The members of the Town of Evans Town Board’s stewardship is at best lacking.
The former Village of Angola Water Treatment Plant property was zoned RF or Recreational Facility. This zoning designation afforded the property many protections under the law.
This post thread will take a look at the many laws designed to protect the public’s interest in this waterfront parcel. Also, optional measures were not implemented by the Town Board.
This is why the [ BN ] editorial compared this matter to a skunk!
There is a saying that there is “Something is rotten in the state of Denmark”.
But upon further review, it is the Town of Evans and not Denmark!
