The Dash years of 2012 to 2015 were another highlight (make that lowlight) in the history of a mismanaged Town of Evans. Dash, a teacher at Lake Shore Central Schools, was not the full time supervisor the town needed. As the audit shows, Dash lacked the business skills to solve financial problems. Failure to implement recommendations made by the state comptroller only made financial problems bigger. Showing up at town hall after the school day could be described as “While the cats away, the mice shall play”. The Dash Years lead to significant town tax increases in 2016, 2017 and 2018. It will take decades to pay down the debt on the mismanaged water project. Best of all, Keith Dash now has a high paying job at the Erie County Water Authority!
